Social Groups
Our social groups are designed to be fun and engaging for kids as they navigate social awareness and apply what they learn by practicing in group activities and games that vary week by week according to the monthly theme. This group is designed for students who can be encouraged in their social skills abilities in the areas of: turn taking in conversation topics, understanding emotions of others, working together and communicating in team-building activities, social boundaries, figurative language, branching out and exploring new interests, communicating their own emotions effectively, handling transitions confidently, learning strategies to reduce social anxiety, and more. We keep our groups small for maximum effectiveness without too much distraction. Newsletters are sent out for the parents monthly so that you know the skills that the group has worked on and what you can do at home to help your child maintain and carry over those skills. Students are placed in groups that are designed to be fun and engaging while strengthening their social skills and pragmatics. Children are grouped by age and grade.
